Special addition to the Trooper Series celebrating International Womens Day 2027. This ride is not limited to women, all are welcome!

A fairly challenging ride, starting in Tadpole Garden Village, 2 controls and some lovely villages.

The Audax distance award is 100K.

What's Included

We operate all audaxes as shoestring+ events as we do not have access to a community hall/space.

We always provide refreshments (hot and cold) and light snacks at the start and end of each Trooper Series event. Those who have attended one of our events before will know there's usually a surprise at the end!

Details

Starting from our usual spot in Tadpole Garden Village, Swindon, riders will venture northwards through the Saxon village of Cricklade before entering the beautiful Cotswolds AONB heading towards Charlton Kings, a village on the eastern edge of Cheltenham. Here you'll find Moosh, a cosy café serving up great coffee though if you prefer, there's a local Co-op just next door.

Leaving Charlton Kings you'll head east navigating your way along some of the more challenging parts of the route to the picturesque Cotswold villages of Upper and Lower Slaughter. Our route passes through the best looking, Lower Slaughter, with its quaint houses lining the tranquil River Eye.

A few short kilometres later you'll be at Bourton-on-the-Water for an Info control. If you need to stop, we recommend Bakery on the Water for a coffee and bite to eat but there are lots of options lining the river. Leaving Bourton-on-the-Water you head due south where once you've exited the Cotswolds AONB, you're rewarded with a gradual descent back to Tadpole Garden Village.

Trooper Series

The main TGV Audax Trooper Series rides (scheduled between April and July 2027) are a great way to experience Audax events. The series is designed to be progressionary with enough time to prepare you and your bicycle for the next increment in distance.

As an added incentive, riders who complete all four rides (500 km) in the series will receive a complimentary patch.
