TGV Cyclists are proud to offer a series of events run to Audax UK rules.
The four-ride series is designed to welcome both seasoned Audax riders and newcomers alike, with distances ranging from 50 km to 200 km — perfect for building experience, participation with a partner/friend or just enjoying the challenge of self supported rides.
Historically, rides take place on the last Saturday of each month from April to July, and are listed on the Audax UK calendar.
All events are run as shoestring+ events to keep entry costs low. Simple refreshments and light snacks will be available at the start and finish. You may even meet us at a control point along the route but this is not for secret controls or rider monitoring but we like to ride ourselves! Please note parking is limited to onstreet and there are no toilet facilities provided at the start location — please plan accordingly.
We look forward to welcoming you on the road!
All Audax events are open to anyone (you do not have to be a TGV Cyclists group member). You must sign up with Audax UK (costs apply) and if you're new to audaxing, read read this.
How to audax with TGV Cyclists:
Sign up on Audax UK
Register on your chosen ride
Look out for and read the pre-ride information and route sheet
Arrive in plenty of time at the start
Collect brevet card, listen to ride briefing
Follow route and fill in answers to questions en route/collect receipts and/or stamps from controls
Arrive at each of the controls by the allocated time
Most importantly, enjoy the ride!
Rides will appear on the Audax UK Calendar Events listings when approved:
50K - The Trooper
100K - The Number of the Beast
150K - Run to the Hills
200K - Fear of the Dark
Riders who successfully complete all of the Trooper Series rides within the time limits will receive a complimentary commemorative finisher’s patch. It’s a small token of recognition — and a little extra motivation to go the distance!
Last year, we were proud to award a patch to Bob C for completing the full series — well done, Bob!
As an added bonus, Audax UK also recognises riders who complete a total of 500 km in a single Randonneuring season (from November 1st to October 31st). The Trooper Series fits this perfectly, with rides of 50 km, 100 km, 150 km, and 200 km — so you can tick off both goals at once.
